Every parent wants to raise healthy kids. Making a connection with a compassionate, qualified and convenient pediatrician can help. That's what we offer at CGH Medical Center. Whether you're raising an infant, young child or adolescent—and whether your child needs routine care, pediatric surgery or something in-between—we can help.
Meet our pediatricians
Our medical staff consists of board-certified pediatricians who truly enjoy working with their young patients. In every pediatric appointment, our pediatricians will take the time to answer questions from you and your child, so you both feel comfortable in our office. We'll work hard to develop a relationship with you and your child that is based on mutual understanding, trust, respect and confidence.
Well-child appointments
Our pediatric practice provides checkups for newborns, children and adolescents. Each appointment includes wellness health education, so kids know just what to do to take charge of their own health.
As a general rule, wellness exams for children not in school are the first appointments in the morning and afternoon. This helps decrease the risk of exposing your child to sick children who also need our medical care.
Making the immunization process easy
Immunizations are an important part of healthcare for kids. That's why we offer a convenient Immunization Clinic staffed by a skilled nurse to care for your children.
Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., your children can receive quick, competent immunizations.
We are also a participant in the Vaccine Plus Program, which provides immunizations at a minimal cost. Please ask us if you are eligible for this program.
If you have any questions about the Immunization Clinic, please call 815.625.4790 and ask for the pediatrics department.

Extra support when you need it
Our pediatricians are supported by pediatric nurses, available by phone during clinic hours. Call them for help with:
- Your child's illness or injury. Our nurses can give you advice right over the phone, and they can arrange for medication or treatment too.
- Urgent appointments. Our nurses can arrange for the pediatrician to see you the same day or as soon as appropriate for your child's condition.
- Referrals to specialty physicians. With the direction of our pediatricians, our nurses can get your child specialist help, as required.
- Test results. Nurses can relay the results of laboratory tests and medical tests.
- Answer questions. Find out more about the growth, development and healthcare of your child with the help of our nurses.
Our nurses can also arrange for your child to see a pediatrician the same day for urgent concerns. Just call, and the nurse will ask you:
- How long has your child been ill?
- Does your child have a fever confirmed with a thermometer?
- What symptoms does your child have?
- What medications have you used and at what doses?
If your child needs urgent help after hours, call 815.625.4790 and leave your name and number with our answering service. Our on-call pediatrician will return your call.
Pediatric surgery expertise
