Laboratory locations to serve you

We have four medical laboratories available to you. Click location name for map.

  • CGH Medical Center: Located in the east end of the hospital in Sterling.
    Hours: Monday through Friday - 7 am to 7 pm

  • CGH Main Clinic: Located in the clinic's main building in Sterling, the laboratory performs more than 500,000 lab tests annually.
    Hours: Monday through Friday - 6 am to 5 pm
    Saturday
    - 6 am to 10:30 am
    (**Please note: 6-7 am each day is reserved for patients with FASTING or EMERGENCY/STAT lab orders ONLY. All other lab testing will begin at 7 am).


  • CGH Dixon Medical Center: Located at 1321 N. Galena Ave. in Dixon, the laboratory performs testing in chemistry, hematology, serology and urinalysis.
    Hours: Monday through Friday - 7:30 am to 5 pm

  • CGH Morrison Medical Center: Located at 105 S. Heaton St., the laboratory performs testing in chemistry, hematology, serology and urinalysis.
    Hours: Monday through Friday - 7:30 am to 5 pm



Medical testing we offer

In our state-of-the-art clinical laboratories, we offer a number of different medical tests, including:

  • Clinical chemistry and special chemistry tests
  • Coagulation

  • Urinalysis
  • Virology

Our talented team of phlebotomists and laboratory technicians can take swift samples of your blood and tissue as needed, and they can perform the tests they need right in our clinical laboratory. That means no delays due to transit time. All of the work will be done within our walls.

Our laboratories use a comprehensive Laboratory Information System (LIS), which provides sophisticated data handling capabilities and links the LIS to the clinic's information system. That means your doctor will have access to your results as quickly as possible and the results will be stored electronically.


Qualified laboratory services

Our laboratories are licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health, and they are accredited by COLA—a national laboratory accreditation organization. Our teams work in in strict compliance with Clinical Library Improvement Amendments from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

We participate in extensive quality assurance proficiency testing survey programs provided through the College of American Pathologists and the American Proficiency Institute.
