Helping Hands Daycare

It's not always easy to find a day care that can treat your child like an individual. At CGH Medical Center, we recognized that need—and we're filling it with our Helping Hands Daycare. Here, kids of all ages have the opportunity to explore, create and enjoy learning in an environment that is positive, gentle and safe.

Serving the youngest of children

Our day care program is open to children ages 6 weeks to 6 years. These kids may need supervision throughout the day while their parents work, or they might need care for just a portion of the day while their parents are otherwise occupied.

Our center is open five days a week, all year long. And it's designed to provide both the employees of CGH Medical Center and the members of our Sauk Valley community with quality child care services at a reasonable cost.

A child care provider you can trust

Kids in our day care are provided with a structured environment. Days begin with breakfast provided by our center, and that meal is followed with educational opportunities that help your child learn how to communicate, share and grow.

We serve a warm lunch in a family format. This allows kids to learn how to share, communicate and function as happy members of a group. We encourage you to come and have lunch with your children as often as your schedule allows. And if the lunch hour isn't convenient for you, visit during another portion of the day. Our open visitation hours ensure that you can visit your child as often as you'd like.

Children have a nap after lunch, and in the late afternoon, they eat snacks from home and complete more educational tasks, depending on their ages and ability levels. When you enroll your child in our day care, you'll know that your child will have a combination of both rest and activity. And that might mean fewer moments of crankiness to mar your time together as a family.

Enrolling your child in our day care

Children are accepted into our day care on a first-come, first-serve basis. Priority is given to children who are full-time dependents of CGH Medical Center employees.

Children are placed according to open slots in their age groups. Once the room capacity has been reached, we have a waiting list program available.

If you'd like to know more about how our day care works and how your child can get enrolled, download our information packet. To get a jump on the enrollment process, download our forms and fill them out at home.
