Team Lindsey to lead CGH Health Foundation Delicious Designs Event

Contact: Joan Hermes
The eighth annual CGH Health Foundation Delicious Designs fundraising event will remain virtual this year and is under the leadership of Team Lindsey! Co-Chairs are Lindsey Fiorini, Physical Therapy Assistant for Bi-County Special Education Cooperative and CGH, and Lindsey Pistole, Retail Director at Sauk Valley Bank.
Bidding on the virtual Silent Auction items will run from 7 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26. Gift baskets, experiences, services, desserts, gift cards, and Wish List items for our patients will be auctioned. Donations of baskets and table sponsorships are being sought.
Since the event’s inception, the focus has been on raising funds for the CGH Women’s Health Program. “This year, we’ll be providing a little TLC for our OB moms who have suffered so greatly during this pandemic,” said Team Lindsey. “Half of the funds raised will go toward a new day of CGH Ways to Wellness counseling solely dedicated to pre/postpartum OB patients. We’d love to receive baskets that pamper the new mom and baby as well as women in general.”
The Foundation also partners with the hospital in providing screening mammograms with no out of pocket costs to area women. Diagnostic tests, breast biopsies, ultrasounds and MRIs are also covered as well as comfort bags for breast cancer patients and meals for CGH Medical Center chemotherapy patients.
The additional counseling day was added after a review of the past fiscal year showed patients assisted jumped by 31%. Among that group was a large number of pregnant and new moms, who were impacted by the isolation and stress resulting from mandated restrictions. A YouTube yoga class and Zoom support group are also being offered this year.
AirAuctioneer.com will be used again for the virtual auction and will go live on Oct. 20 for review of the baskets, but bidding starts 7a.m. Oct. 21. To donate or sponsor a basket, experience, service, dessert, or gift card, please contact: Lindsey Fiorini, 815/677-7049; Lindsey Pistole, 815/878-7564; or Joan Hermes, ext. 5672. Items are being taken now through the end of September at 2600 N. Locust St., Sterling.
There will also be an opportunity to create a Virtual Pink Ribbon Tribute in memory of or in honor of a loved one who has been impacted by breast cancer. Virtual ribbons will be posted in a gallery on the CGH Facebook page. More details later.
