Stolen CGH Ambulance Involved in Crash

An ambulance stolen from CGH Medical Center was involved in a crash earlier today, Saturday, March 14, 2020. According to officials, a patient fled the CGH Emergency Department on foot and proceeded to steal an ambulance from the hospital’s property. The patient drove the ambulance onto Locust Street, where the driver lost control and struck another vehicle, causing the ambulance to roll over near the corner of Locust and 10th Streets in Sterling. Both drivers involved in the incident were transported to CGH Medical Center for evaluation. At this point, there does not appear to be any serious injuries. The incident is under investigation by the Sterling Police Department.
