STERLING, IL (September 4, 2019) – Superhero kids and adults alike will be honored at the Oct. 17 Delicious Designs event, hosted by the CGH Health Foundation at Deer Valley Country Club.

Proceeds from “Superheroes Wanted”, the sixth annual fundraiser, will go to the Foundation Women’s Health Program and the CGH Pediatric Rehab Center. Cost is $30 per ticket. Doors open at 5 p.m., with heavy hors d’oeuvres served throughout the night.

“Our breast cancer survivors and the youngsters who have received physical, occupational and speech therapy at the Peds Rehab Center have turned their challenges in life into personal power,” said event Co-Chairs Starr Coleman and Susanna Riley. “Our event is all about inspiring these women and kids to see the superhero inside themselves, and to show that the rest of us are their superhero sidekicks, supporting them along the way.”

Superheroes to be celebrated at the Oct. 17 CGH Health Foundation Delicious Designs fundraiser (pictured L-R) include: Paulette Selmi, Leanne Horton and Starr Coleman, all breast cancer survivors, and CGH Pediatric Rehab Center patients back row: Oliver Wadelton, Leo Loos. Front row: Johnny Loos, Jaziya Balfour, Jaxson Vervynck, and Emme Loos. Seated: Harper Rosengren

A new feature is a Wish List Silent Auction. Items needed by the Pediatric Rehab Center and Women’s Health Program will be listed and bidders can “sponsor” the items with their donation. For instance, a bidder could “purchase” a pediatric therapy toy for $50 or a breast cancer pamper bag for $50.

Fantastic experience/getaway packages will be featured in the Live and Silent auctions. Grab a mystery bottle of wine/spirits or a gift card in the three Pulls, from $20 to $25 per chance. There will be a Silent Auction as well. Make room for one of the delectable Dessert Auction delights.

Superhero costumes and capes welcome!
