The scholarship application deadline has been extended from April 1 to May 1 for both the CGH Auxiliary and CGH Health Foundation grants for college education. There are two separate applications, both of which can be found at www.cghmc.com/scholarships.
The CGH Auxiliary awards several $1,000 scholarships to students who reside in the CGH service area. Students must have been accepted into their professional school of healthcare study and meet the criteria established by the Auxiliary. Last year nine scholarships were awarded. There are eight nursing/healthcare scholarships open to the public for the CGH Health Foundation – with one application. Awards range from $1,000 to $3,000. One requirement is proof of acceptance into your professional school of healthcare study. Residents of the CGH service area are eligible, including individuals living in Whiteside, Lee, Ogle, Carroll and Bureau counties. In addition, the $1,000 Illinois Hospital Research & Educational Foundation Scholarship (sponsored by the Constituency on Volunteers of the Illinois Health and Hospital Association) is available for download at www.team-iha.org/member-resources. The criteria is similar to that of the CGH Auxiliary scholarship. However, the deadline is Wednesday, April 15 for this scholarship.
