Purpose, Worthwhile Work, Making a Difference!
Serena is the perfect float nurse. She gets along with her peers and fits in as a team member in each department. She is a certified wound care nurse and a valuable resource for physicians, nurses and patients when wound care is needed. She is currently working on BSN completion and deciding on what area of masters to pursue. As a preceptor coordinator, Serena arranges new float nurses' orientation for the best fit and best experience. She keeps in touch with new nurses during orientation and acts as a long-term mentor. She also is active in arranging nursing students to shadow RNs. She coordinates a student RN internship program which helps in the recruitment and retention of new nurses as well as assists in transition from student to RN.
