Anna Beswick
Clinic Nurse Educator, 1 year
I’ve always been passionate about education. Back when I decided what career path I should take, I knew someday I would get to combine my love for nursing and education into one job. Last year, when I became the CGH clinic nurse educator, everything fell into place. Now, I’m not only putting 10 years of experience to use for our patients, but I’m also helping other nurses grow in their careers.
Giving me the tools I need to succeed
Since I started, I’ve learned a lot about the role and what it takes to be successful in this position. Every day is different, which is one of the best parts of being an educator. Between coordinating skills labs, reviewing continuing education, and tracking yearly competencies, I have grown a lot as a nurse and an educator. I’m absolutely thriving here.
Growing personally and professionally
I’m proof that you can grow your career at CGH. Within two years of joining their team, they helped me realize and achieve one of my long-time career goals. And, I’m still learning new things every day! CGH tuition reimbursement made going back to school for my master’s degree an easy choice financially. Plus, working in the clinics gives me more time to spend with my family. Having four kids that range from age 10 to 4, it’s so nice to be home by dinner and spend time with them before bed. I also don’t have to work weekends or holidays now, so that is another huge bonus.
Getting all-around support and encouragement
I love working for CGH because of the incredible people I work with and the community atmosphere here. I always feel supported and encouraged by the entire CGH team, and I’m thankful to have a job where I can continue to grow and learn.
