Foundation celebrating 35 years
On Sept. 15, the CGH Health Foundation will celebrate the past 35 years of boosting the lives of over 618,000 children and adults in the Sauk Valley. The milestone will be marked with an open house at CGH Ryberg Auditorium from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on that date.
Just like an extra hug, the Foundation has become a critical force in ensuring access to healthcare for the under-served and in delivering the message of wellness to Sauk Valley residents. The incorporation in 1987 of the CGH Health Foundation was yet another step in assuring continued excellence in the provision of healthcare by CGH Medical Center. These past 35 years have produced customized health initiatives that have filled gaps, brought peace of mind, produced smiles and received statewide recognition, according to Foundation Chair Martha Kophamer.
“Our volunteer leaders and dedicated employees have created life changing, heart-warming programs that extend CGH’s mission of wellness beyond the hospital walls," said Mrs. Kophamer. “But it’s our donors who guarantee our success.”
Benefactors in the thousands have invested nearly $12 million in health initiatives. All contributions are spent locally on wellness education programs, health services for the under-served and capital projects. “We’re not a typical bricks and mortar Foundation,” said Mrs. Kophamer. “We’d rather concentrate on keeping you healthy through educating about various diseases and offering greater access to healthcare services.”
When it comes to charitable donations, most people want to ensure that the funds they donate support real work that helps their community. When you donate to the CGH Health Foundation, you'll know that your money is going to an organization you can trust. Check out our year-end report card on who our donors have helped.
