The Influenza (Flu Season) continues to increase across the United States and our state as well. We recently received a memo from the Illinois Department of Public Health advising the following steps be taken. This is a reasonable request and CGH Medical requests support of these from our visitors also.
The patients we serve are our #1 priority, please assist us in putting their best interest first and by following these guidelines established by our local health departments, Hospital Infection Preventionists, Physicians and Nurses, Hospital Administration, and the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Please check in at the nurse's station before proceeding to a patient's room. This ensures that the patient is prepared for visitors. Limiting the number of visitors and the amount of time spent in the room will help. Remember, the patient needs rest during recovery - you can help. Children are welcome but must be supervised, and some areas are restricted. Please check with your nurse.
Interpreters are available upon request.
