Colorectal cancer - the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States - is 90% treatable if caught early. That is why the CGH Digestive Health Center offers the latest in detection procedures, such as the colonoscopy, a visual examination of the colon using a fiberoptic scope.
Apprehensive? Don't worry. You will be kept comfortable during this routine outpatient procedure... and it could save your life. Your physician can let you know if you should be screened for colorectal cancer. If the answer is yes, ask for a referral to the CGH Digestive Health Center. Our experienced staff provides screening procedures using the most up-to-date methods and technologically advanced medical equipment.
CGH Medical Center's highly trained nurses, gastroenterology assistants and other certified professionals in the Digestive Health Center assist gastroenterologists like Dr. Jorge Monteagudo, Dr. Rahsaan B. Friend, DO, MBS, and Concha Sitter, MS, APN, FNP-BC, CGRN in providing necessary colorectal cancer screening procedures like colonoscopies.
