CGH Medical Center Earned an ‘A’ Grade for Patient Safety in Leapfrog’s Fall 2015 Hospital Safety Sc (4-8-2016)
STERLING, IL (April 8, 2016) – An announcement released recently by the independent hospital watchdog The Leapfrog Group, shows key shifts among many hospitals on the A, B, C, D and F grades rating them on errors, injuries, accidents, and infections. CGH Medical Center earned an A in this elite national ratings program, recognizing its strong commitment to patient safety.

Join CGH for the 2nd Annual “Healthy & Bright” Holiday Lighting Ceremony (11-17-2015)
Sterling, IL (November 17, 2015) - CGH Medical Center and the CGH Auxiliary cordially invite the public to the second annual “Healthy & Bright” Holiday Lighting Ceremony, presented by the CGH Auxiliary. The lighting will be held on Tuesday, November 24. Help us light up Sterling as thousands of holiday lights illuminate CGH Medical Center and the CGH Main Clinic, with the addition of lights on the east side of the new ER.

CGH Milledgeville Offers Expanded Hours and Services (11-13-2015)
(Sterling, IL – November 13, 2015) - Earlier this week CGH Medical Center relaunched the CGH Milledgeville Medical Center. The clinic is now staffed full-time by Lynne Coffey, FNP, and offers expanded hours and same-day appointments. Located at 601 E. Old Mill Street, the clinic is one of 16 clinics in the rural CGH service area providing quality care to our outlying communities.

CGH Seamlessly Implements New ICD-10 Coding System (11-12-2015)
(Sterling, IL – November 12, 2015)—On October 1, 2015 ICD-10 took effect in the US health care system. According to the CDC, ICD-10 stands for the International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision and is a medical classification list by the World Health Organization (WHO). It contains codes for diseases, signs and symptoms, and external causes of injury or diseases.

October is Audiology Awareness Month (9-30-2015)
(Sterling, IL - September 30, 2015)— Hearing loss is an increasing health concern in this nation that is often preventable. Approximately 36 million Americans suffer from hearing loss, according to the American Academy of Audiology. More than half of the people with hearing loss are younger than age 65. Taking time to see an audiologist for regular hearing screenings and knowing the signs of hearing loss can protect your hearing. In response to the growing number of Americans suffering from hearing loss, CGH Audiology has joined the American Academy of Audiology to promote National Audiology Awareness Month this October.

CGH Health Foundation to host April 9 Silent Auction, Bake Sale, Dessert Auction, Penny Raffle (4-2-2014)
You may find the perfect Easter or Mother’s Day gift basket at the Wednesday, April 9 Silent Auction and Bake Sale, hosted by the CGH Health Foundation. The much-anticipated annual event runs from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at CGH Medical Center in the Lobby, Ryberg Auditorium and Classrooms 1 and 2 and is open to the public. Running simultaneously is a Dessert Auction and Penny Raffle. Over 80 bakers will be sharing their culinary delights. Get there early for the best selection. Winners of the Penny Raffle will be drawn at 3:30 p.m. There are 20 possible prizes, including a handmade wreath, wine basket, Uncle Woody’s popcorn basket, gift certificates and more.

Ink Storm Tattoo hosting Cancer Ribbon Day (10-28-2013)
Ink Storm Tattoo owner Dan Covell and his fellow tattoo artists will host their second annual Cancer Ribbon Day benefit this Thursday, October 31 from noon to 8 p.m. at their shop at 110 Second Ave., Sterling.
