October is Audiology Awareness Month (9-30-2015)
(Sterling, IL - September 30, 2015)— Hearing loss is an increasing health concern in this nation that is often preventable. Approximately 36 million Americans suffer from hearing loss, according to the American Academy of Audiology. More than half of the people with hearing loss are younger than age 65. Taking time to see an audiologist for regular hearing screenings and knowing the signs of hearing loss can protect your hearing. In response to the growing number of Americans suffering from hearing loss, CGH Audiology has joined the American Academy of Audiology to promote National Audiology Awareness Month this October.

CGH Medical Center in Sterling, Illinois has been recognized as an Emergent Stroke Ready Hospital by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), as of September 8, 2015.

24th Annual Pumpkin Dash Set for October 3 (9-14-2015)
Sterling, IL (September 14, 2015) – It’s time once again for area kids to put on their running shoes as the 24th annual Great Pumpkin Dash Cross Country Festival is just around the corner! The Pumpkin Dash sponsored by CGH Medical Center, the Sterling Park District, and Kunes Country Auto Group will take place on Saturday, October 3rd at Hoover Park in Sterling. On-site registration begins at 9:00 a.m. and continues throughout the morning. The first race begins at 11 a.m.

“Strong Bones” Exercise Class (8-20-2015)
STERLING, IL (August 20, 2015) - CGH Medical Center’s Community Services Department and the CGH Health Foundation are pleased to announce that the next “Strong Bones” class will start in Sterling beginning September 9.

CGH Seeks Top Dogs…and Their Humans…for the Love on a Leash Therapy Program (6-16-2015)
Temperament Testing Set for July 15, 2015 CGH Medical Center is recruiting well-trained, well-mannered dogs – and their humans – for its Love on a Leash animal-assisted therapy program. As part of this program, therapy dogs and their owners visit the hospital to bring comfort to patients, helping reduce stress and pain levels, while also improving patient/staff communication.

CGH Health Foundation to host April 9 Silent Auction, Bake Sale, Dessert Auction, Penny Raffle (4-2-2014)
You may find the perfect Easter or Mother’s Day gift basket at the Wednesday, April 9 Silent Auction and Bake Sale, hosted by the CGH Health Foundation. The much-anticipated annual event runs from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at CGH Medical Center in the Lobby, Ryberg Auditorium and Classrooms 1 and 2 and is open to the public. Running simultaneously is a Dessert Auction and Penny Raffle. Over 80 bakers will be sharing their culinary delights. Get there early for the best selection. Winners of the Penny Raffle will be drawn at 3:30 p.m. There are 20 possible prizes, including a handmade wreath, wine basket, Uncle Woody’s popcorn basket, gift certificates and more.

Ink Storm Tattoo hosting Cancer Ribbon Day (10-28-2013)
Ink Storm Tattoo owner Dan Covell and his fellow tattoo artists will host their second annual Cancer Ribbon Day benefit this Thursday, October 31 from noon to 8 p.m. at their shop at 110 Second Ave., Sterling.
