Volunteers & Auxiliary

The Power of Volunteering

According to a study released in May 2007 by the Corporation for National and Community Service, volunteers have greater longevity, higher functional ability, lower rates of depression and less incidence of heart disease.

Since 1957, CGH Auxiliary members have donated their time and talents to help their friends and neighbors in times of need.  If you enjoy helping others and are looking for a worthwhile, rewarding way to spend your spare time, and possibly improve your health, the CGH Medical Center Auxiliary is perfect for you. Whether or not you have special skills to offer, you can find a way to be of service. You will train with experienced volunteers.

What does a CGH Auxiliary volunteer do?

  •  Enhances the mission of CGH Medical Center: “To provide quality healthcare in a caring, efficient and cost-effective manner.”
  •  Adds a special touch of caring and attention for our patients, families and visitors
  •  Assists staff in providing a high quality of personalized care

  • Satisfaction from "sharing the gift of caring"
