Dig In! Help us begin our new century by changing lives and saving lives!
Did you know that 1 in 3 children born today will become diabetic in their lifetime? Obesity and diabetes are real threats to our children, not just the adults of the Sauk Valley. Through the new CGH Centennial Learning Garden Project we are literally planting seeds at area schools – all part of a nutrition-based initiative to connect the dots for children between fresh produce and healthy eating. Gardens have been planted at East Coloma School, Rock Falls High School, Sterling Christian School and CGH Helping Hands Daycare.
Our recipe for planting the seeds for a healthy future, and for reaching our $300,000 campaign goal, combines: three heaping tablespoons of goodwill and a cup of wellness education, generously sprinkled with contributions from individuals and businesses and a dash of support from vital area community partners.
