The Power of Volunteering

New research shows that despite all the additional stresses of a difficult economy, volunteers are pitching in to help others in need. In fact, 1.6 million more Americans were served in 2009 than in 2008 - the largest increase in service since 2003.

According to a study released by the Corporation for National and Community Service, volunteers have greater longevity, higher functional ability, lower rates of depression and less incidence of heart disease.

Since 1957, CGH Auxiliary members have donated their time and talents to help their friends and neighbors in times of need.  If you enjoy helping others and are looking for a worthwhile, rewarding way to spend your spare time, and possibly improve your health, the CGH Medical Center Auxiliary is perfect for you. Whether or not you have special skills to offer, you can find a way to be of service. You will train with experienced volunteers.

What Does a CGH Auxiliary Volunteer Do?
