A patient was admitted in critical condition to CCU. This gentleman was the primary caregiver for his wife who recently had hip surgery. He was concerned she would not get her meals as she is unable to prepare them for herself.  Jodi and the charge nurse spent approximately 40 minutes contacting various agencies and trying to reach family members without success.

So, Jodi told the patient she would take his wife food and check on her after her shift. The patient was very appreciative. After work, Jodi delivered food for the wife’s supper and breakfast for the next day. While there she also helped her with other needs. Jodi’s willingness to go above and beyond to provide patient and family care and comfort demonstrates service excellence at its best.
